Time to run up that old mountain!
Mount Chincogan sits above the town of Mullumbimby and for many the climb, run or walk up it’s hills can be anything from a challenge, or just a great walk with fantastic views.
The mountain is only open for public access once a year and the Chinny Charge is a really important part of this towns history.
It was actually how the town was able to fund the Mullumbimby Memorial swimming pool as well as raising money to put towards other charities and improvements to the town.
It is a great way to open up the mountain for locals as well as raise money towards important facilities and improvements in Mullumbimby and the surrounding areas.
Places for running and walking up the mountain on the 19th Sept 2020 are limited to 500 on the day and importantly, competitors have to be 12 years and over to run or walk up the mountain.
There are a range of prizes that can be won as part of the Chinny Charge from the fastest man and woman to cross the line ($500), the fastest local woman and man, the oldest woman and man to participate in the charge.
